About

Hi — I’m Timea, a photographer based in Helsinki, Finland. I’ve always had a camera or a pen in my hand, observing and documenting the everyday in different formats. Photography became my medium of choice in my early 20s and my first camera was a Canon EOS 1000D — a basic 10-megapixel DSLR with a couple of lenses that I loved experimenting with. It taught me to see and to pay attention but also learn where I can take my creative work with the tools I have available. In 2018, I went back to the roots of photography and started shooting film with a classic Canon AE-1 that I found on eBay. These days I work with both analog and digital, adding the EOS R6 to my camera bag.

I’m drawn to people, places, and those fleeting moments that carry a feeling — joy, sadness, love, curiosity. I tell stories — sometimes spontaneous, sometimes thoughtfully composed — but always honest and emotionally grounded. I chase the feeling of things: grief, joy, love, excitement, loss, the quiet moments in between. My work moves between portrait and documentary.

I work in the photography industry, which keeps me close to the craft every day — surrounded by cameras, lenses, and the tools that enable photographers to bring their vision to life. Photography, for me, is both a profession and a way of understanding the world. My personal projects are where I explore, observe, and follow my curiosity by capturing moments that speak to our shared human experience. Every image is a small story, a moment I want to share, a feeling I hope you too can recognize.
